One day, on my way to Chicago...

I have always loved looking out the plane window on a clear day, watching the cities and towns go by.  There they are, whole communities, with histories and civic pride and everything.  Most times I haven't a good enough fix on the plane's position to know what town I'm looking at.  But on one exceptional flight on 27 May 1999 from Washington National (DCA) to Chicago O'Hare (ORD), in the aft section of a lightly-loaded United 737, I was able to get at my camera and snap away.  What you see are the cities I felt confident in identifying from the 1995 Rand McNally Road Atlas.  They follow a time-sequential 150-mile track from Columbus, OH - Ft. Wayne, IN.  I went to Yahoo! and found the links to the local pages for each one.  Clicking on an image will download a 256-color .jpg file with 500 pixels vertical resolution.  But be warned--they are on the order of 140 - 150 KB.  It's weird--on the Columbus photo I was able to note the spot where I stayed overnight when I was driving through on I-70.
