• "Bo's" Cybercabin: my attempt to create a virtual getaway zone; a "camp" for my tired mind--it has topography and everything...
 
• Includes the Cybercabin Diary, where I attempt to figure a few things out (the Cabin discourse has been placed on hiatus since November 2004--at 536 entries).  I suppose the rambling monologue of a man alone doesn't make for the best reading--but it has helped me to write about it.
• And then there is the Real Life Shed/Cottage/Cabin/Playhouse Project that has been going on since December 2006 in my back yard.  It's all the way from scratch, folks, and has been a great learning experience in handymanship.
 
• Entry material from My handwritten journal, 11 Sept 2001.  We will never forget.
• Excerpts from a Real Life Journal I had to maintain for high school creative writing, Oct 1977 - Dec 1977
• I finally got around, in March 2003, to writing a Chemistry research paper for the 10th grade 2nd semester, 1977.  Maybe she'll take it, 26 years late.
• The EE Senior Project I ended up turning in in 1987, when I went to Lawrence Tech.  It's still under construction, with more to come.  Watch out, y'all; I scanned them large, to capture detail--up in the megapixels.

• My under-construction attempt to put up a "Sears-iana" page, to give tribute to their having been there for so many years.
• My first attempt at writing fiction at real length--C T Prime, a Short Novel--22,000 words; Written 1986, revised 1989.  What my life might have been...

• An old Flip-card animation, that I drew on 50 3 x 5 cards back around 8th grade, 1975.  The faintly-connected be warned:  the *.gif file is 1.18 MB.

I cannot say enough, about how I love the 2-stroke-cycle internal combustion engine.  I even made a stylized animation.  I hope to have a real resource developed soon on this.

• Finally, I have scanned and photographed the two ring designs that I did myself and had commissioned at Real Jewelers Incorporated, Crystal City, Arlington, VA.  Manager Mory and his talented jeweler George really outdid themselves, with these 2 jobs in 2003, 2004.   I'm actually quite proud of my designs, and have even discussed design and fashion with female friends.

Some of the Ways I spend my Time:

• I put in quite a lot at my work as Examiner for the US Patent and Trademark Office, both on my own docket and (though less so, as of 3rd quarter, FY 2002) those of the new folks.
• For many years now I have been a fan of pinball and a machine owner as well.  The arcades just don't seem to have them any more.


• New for 2007:  the "Legoburgh, PA" train set development project.  What else have I to mess with, for the next 20 years?
• In 1999 and 2000, I joined the Pokémon Trading Card Game frenzy.  They sit, in their boxes, with the other items in the total collection of my Xana'02 Estate.
• Among my dearest entertainment acquisitions have been 2 1993 - 94 vintage IGT S+ slot machines (Wild Cherry 5-coin, Red, White & Blue 2-coin).  Playing quarters is strangely relaxing, even when they're my own.
• I've enjoyed collecting feature-length 16 mm films from ebay.com auctions, though this kind of acquisition must be done sparingly, as with my enjoyment of obtaining rare US coins and the ubiquitous 50 State Quarters.
• And then, of course, there's all the time I'm online, enjoying the connectivity I now have in Fairfax County, Virginia with my connection via Cox Communications and the cable modem.  At my new address in Fairfax 22032, I was spending too much on landline phone, so I canceled the entire connection, in favor of a Verizon Wireless cell phone.  Convergence, it would seem, is much the dream that the *.com economy was in 1999 and 2000.
• I spend a good bit of time online, actually enough, at my downstairs workstation, in the "den", at the fireside and watching TV.  I have built a Linksys wireless network between "P1700CX", the server (a Gateway 1.7 GHz Pentium 4, circa 2001), and "P5166XL", the client (a Gateway 2000 166 MHz Pentium, circa 1996).  2 nodes with one arc is as much a "network" as the two tin cans and their common piece of string.  As of August 2006, I added a laptop to the Wi-Fi as well.  For 2007, the office is going to equip me with an official-business laptop as well, extending the network at Xana'02 to 4 nodes.
• The bo-hemian.com domain continues to be hosted by Verio Hosting who graciously let me operate this site on their service, though I do not claim to be a "business".  All told, I've had internet access since Nov 1994 and a private account since Sept 1995.  That makes me an old-timer, I do believe.

Feedback: (This was my favorite sight on the 3.0 Version Netscape)  Send mine to  rjbayerl -(at)- bo-hemian -(dot)- com I check this mailbox with near compulsion...ask anyone who knows me.    My Guestbook:  A victim of spam-'bots; the whole thing had to be chucked.   This service had given me a Forum board as well Likewise, rendered useless by the spammers.  I still see links online to my domain, trying to sell flowers to every country on earth, though I removed the entire subdirectory some time ago.
