Setting is 18 Karat white, crafted by Real Jewelers' master jeweler, whom I knew as "George". It was fabricated first as a mock-up from gold sheet, and the model then used to cast the final piece.
I had a diamond from Zales kicking around, and rather than sell it below wholesale, I decided to re-purpose it. It's a long, long story, from 2002 - 2004.
I wear it as a "right hand ring", on the #4 (ring) finger, every day, and usually while I sleep, too.
It gives me a nice little light show to occupy me, when I'm stuck in an elevator or sitting at Mass on Sunday morning.

I really shouldn't wear this piece as I do, in rough situations. Polished, this thing is truly something, especially under jewelry store lighting.
