As far as I can figure, my middle-age crisis hit me a few years earlier, at 35 years old, than it does most men. Thus my time with my 1997 Ford Explorer XLT, with the 5.0L V8. At 60K miles, it was time to move on, so this is the next step. This is a dandy of a truck, as outfitted with a DuraLiner bedliner and an Extang soft tonneau cover. I do enjoy driving a newer, low-miles vehicle, since I'm not the one for unexpected breakdowns. I hope to find more useful payloads as time goes on, such as the loads of firewood I pick up here and there where they sell it in bulk. It's pretty big inside that SuperCrew cab, with full seating for 5 persons. The height is a real knuckle-whitener, though, in the underground garage at work.
I have, on occasion, enjoyed reading the content at the Ford
Truck Enthusiasts site.
The guys on there generally know their stuff.
